I understand your concern about false positive warnings, but I'm sure it's not that bad. You don't even know the error rate, and are assuming too much. There are numerous foreshocks, providing significant opportunity for accurate prediction, so "a trembler or two" is grossly inaccurate.

ROB-898387, or perhaps you don't grasp the importance of the idea. If it helps, replace "nothing" with "empty space". A proper understanding of empty space has severe consequences in physics, i.e. in the physical world.
